Wisconsin Public Service Foundation

Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is continuing to support local veterans through a very generous donation to Veterans 1^st of Northeast Wisconsin. The WPS Foundation is providing a $10,000 donation to Veterans 1^st to purchase half of the materials it needs to build a new, affordable this year. Pictured is the Gold Plate that will be featured on the front of one of our Tiny Homes.

The new home is part of Veterans 1^st’s Veterans Village project which works to provide homes for veterans at risk of homelessness. Veterans 1^st also directs the income it receives through the project to support 15 different programs that assist veterans in northeast Wisconsin. With the help of the WPS Foundation, we will be saving veterans’ lives, offering them purpose, and helping them become self-sufficient.

WPS is committed to building a bright, sustainable future for the customers and communities it serves. The company’s charitable foundation is an essential part of this mission, strengthening its communities through partnerships with nonprofit organizations and causes for nearly 60 years.

The Wisconsin Public Service Foundation is very supportive of area veterans and veterans service organizations. In addition to partnering with Veterans 1^st, the foundation has been among the lead sponsors for the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight’s Flight of Champions since 2019.  Lana Vandervest, WPS Foundation Administrator, is pictured with Veterans 1^st founder Gail Nohr as both volunteered during the October 2023 flight.

We hope to continue our partnership with the WPS Foundation, as we have many of the same values and concerns as they do for our community and our area veterans.
