Salute to Service October 19th

The Houses of Honor group is raising the funds to sponsor a home in our Veterans 1st of NEW Village with their fundraiser on October 19th from 2pm to 7pm at the Stadium View in Green Bay. The Houses of Honor group donated $15,000 from their Salute to Service event in 2024 and this year they would like to donate $35,000 to have a home named after them in our Village. The Houses of Honor put on the Salute to Service event every year and usually have from 350 to 400 veterans and their family and the public attend. It is during an away Packer game and the game will be broadcast on the screens located around the room. Veterans eat and receive two drinks for free and non veterans can make a donation of $15 to enjoy the pizza and cheesecake as well. There will be a veterans only raffle and all kinds of basket raffles and silent auction items to bid on. John Maino hosts the event and he will honor an area veteran and tell his story.

An integral part of the Houses of Honor® tradition is the annual Salute to Service Event, which has been a staple since 2017. Originally conceived as a gesture of gratitude towards our military members, often coinciding with Veterans Day, this event quickly evolved into a successful fundraiser. What makes this event truly special is that we come together to watch our Green Bay Packers football game while celebrating and honoring our veterans.

Additionally, we host over 10 local veteran support organizations, each with a table to provide valuable resources and information. With over 300 veterans in the room, our goal is to connect them with the services our county offers and show them the appreciation they deserve. During halftime, we take a special moment to honor a distinguished veteran who has made a significant impact through their military career and contributions to the world. Donations from this event are channeled to local nonprofit veteran organizations, amplifying their reach and enhancing support for our heroes.
