County Materials Partners with Veterans 1st

County Materials, through the Sonnentag American Foundation, supports dozens of local organizations and causes in four service areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Service Member and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building. As a patriotic and strong supporter of the United States Armed Forces, the Sonnentag American Foundation partners with organizations that enhance the lives of service members, wounded warriors, veterans, and critically ill and injured service members of all branches of the U.S. military.
County Materials believes in empowering veterans to lead fulfilling civilian lives after their service and treating all service members with respect and dignity. This support helps provide safe and accessible housing, career coaching and skills training, and trained service dogs to enhance their quality of life and recreational opportunities. In addition to these initiatives, County Materials also supports educational efforts and the construction of memorials to ensure future generations understand the honor and sacrifice of wearing the cloth of this country.
To address the shortage of affordable housing for veterans in Brown County, County Materials has partnered with Veterans 1st of NEW to build 21 homes within the veterans’ village, along with a Community Center that will feature an office, kitchen, and meeting area for group gatherings and training. Through this partnership, County Materials reaffirms its commitment to honoring those who have served by helping build stable, supportive communities where veterans and service members can thrive.
