Capital Credit Union
Capital Credit Union in Green Bay was so very gracious in allowing Veterans 1st of Northeast Wisconsin to be the recipient of their parking proceeds from their Packers Game Day Parking fundraiser. They raised $6,150 and donated it all to our organization. This donation will help us raise funds to purchase discounted materials for our next Tiny Home that we will be building in Green Bay in the spring of 2024! We are very grateful to all their employees and hope to continue working with them in the future.
ABOUT GAME DAY PARKING
Capital Credit Union raised the funds to donate to us through their Game Day Parking tradition. On Packer game days, they open the parking lot of their Morris Avenue branch in Ashwaubenon to fans looking for a place to park or tailgate. Parking is $20, and all proceeds that Capital Credit Union raises are donated to local non-profits. Each game, they select an organization to receive the funding from that day’s parking proceeds.
ABOUT CAPITAL CREDIT UNION
The motto at Capital Credit Union is “Doing the Right Thing.” On their website, it says that they live by this philosophy at work, at home, and in our communities. Some of the steps they take to do the right thing include supporting communities around their branches, hiring the right people, and partnering with local charities. Capital Credit Union also sees the initiative to do what’s right in their members, employees, and community partners.
PATRIOT GROUP AT CCU
Capital Credit Union also has a variety of employee-organized groups within their organization called Network Resource Groups. Each group has a different area of focus to provide resources to niche groups of employees. One group called Patriot focuses on the needs of current and prior military service members, non-service members, first responders, and their families within Capital Credit Union. This internal group primarily focuses on providing resources to the employees who fall under these categories, as well as raising awareness and knowledge within the credit union about the resources that are offered.
