County Materials Partnership

Veterans 1st of Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a supportive community for veterans in need of affordable housing, while offering resources to help them achieve greater self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life.
In Brown County, there is a shortage of affordable housing for veterans. To address this, County Materials has partnered with Veterans 1st of NEW to build 21 homes within the veterans’ village, along with a community center featuring an office, kitchen, and meeting area for group gatherings and training.
County Materials, through the Sonnentag American Foundation, supports dozens of local organizations and causes in four service areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Service Member and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.

County Materials Corporation also partners with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that supports families in building and improving affordable homes. Committed to strengthening communities, Habitat for Humanity provides safe, affordable housing, leading to better health, safety, child development, economic opportunities, and educational outcomes.
In 2024, County Materials partnered with Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity to support a Habitat Youth Build, an initiative that provides students with hands-on training in construction, equipping them with practical skills like operating construction equipment and installing drywall while fostering teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. Working alongside experienced volunteers, industry professionals, and Habitat staff, students receive mentorship and learn about careers in the skilled trades.
