2023 Awardee David Mikulsy and 2024 Awardee Gail Nohr

Our Cofounder, Gail Nohr received the 2024 UPS Volunteer of the Year Award recently for her work with Veterans 1st of Northeast Wisconsin on February 16th, 2025. The event is organized by the United Patriotic Society. This year they chose to honor Gail for her work that she is doing raising awareness for Veterans 1st and the need for affordable housing for veterans of Northeast Wisconsin. She puts in countless hours every week as the Program Director to bring together the 75 different partner agencies who are working with us to bring this project to fruition and bring support services to our veterans residents. She is our Volunteer Coordinator who keeps track of our over 250 volunteers and keeps them updated on our progress. She is our Social Media Coordinator and coordinates the posting of news and events on our Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Website platforms. She is in charge of fundraising events and obtaining donations. We have over $2 million dollars in donations as of 2025 and she will continue to keep those relationships with our donors as we move forward into 2025. She is also focused on making new relationships with possible donors for the next $1.5 million dollars that we would like to raise.
